LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.'s women's tennis team enjoyed its return to its home court.
The Golden Eagles, playing in their first home match since Feb. 7, swept Cal State San Bernardino, 9-0, Saturday in a California Collegiate Athletic Association match. Cal State L.A. (5-2, 3-2 CCAA) moved into a tie for second place with Cal Poly Pomona in the conference with its fourth straight victory overall.
All six singles contests were decided in straight sets. In the featured match, Comsa, the reigning CCAA Player of the Week, won the first nine games and rolled past Joy, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 1 singles. DeSilva beat Horn, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, Ducanovic beat Elwell, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 3 singles, Majzlikova beat Choate, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4 singles, Jackson beat Ashley Hulett, 6-2, 6-4, at No. 5 singles and Avila beat Jenkins, 6-0, 7-5, at No. 6 singles.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Monday with a non-conference match against Occidental at the Cal State L.A. Tennis Complex at 2:30 p.m.
